NOMINATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE COMMUNITY AWARDS AND THE ROTARY CITIZEN OF THE YEAR

 Meaford’s premier community event of the year is quickly approaching.  The 14th Annual Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Dinner & Presentation is set for Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Meaford & St. Vincent Community Centre.

 The event is a celebration of the successes of our community members and local businesses during the past year. A full slate of awards in eight categories will highlight the evening, including the Presentation of the Rotary Club of Meaford Citizen of the Year Award.  

 Over the years many people have been recognized for their significant contribution to our community. Last year’s award recipients were:

 Agribusiness Award – Twin Creeks Organic Farm

Customer Service Award – The Kitchen

Tourism Award – Millhollow Bed & Breakfast

Business Owner of the Year – Bill’s Valu-mart

Most Improved Business – Knights Home Building Centre

Special Merit Award – The Unique Boutique

Peter Francis Memorial Award – Lorene Taylor

Rotary Club of Meaford Citizen of the Year – Geoff Solomon

 Award nomination forms are now available at the Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce, Municipality of Meaford Office, Meaford Post Office, Meaford Public Library and Meaford Hall.  You can also nominate a business or individual online at www.mdcc.ca.  The deadline for submissions for both the Chamber Community Awards and the Rotary Citizen of the Year Award is Monday, March 12, 2012.
